Raised Bed Gardening Workshop

Do you think you don’t have enough space to grow a vegetable garden? Almost everyone has room for a raised bed or a few containers. Come learn how to build and plant your own compact vegetable garden on Tuesday, May 4, at 6 PM at the Agricultural Resources Center in Newton. We’ll show you how to build a raised bed and choose suitable containers, what sort of soil to put in them and how to plant a variety of vegetables. You can grow a lot of vegetables in a very small space. This class will give you the tools you need to plant your own vegetable garden at your home. Bring a friend with you and plant a garden together. We’ll have a few door prizes to give away to get you started with your garden. If you have questions, contact the Catawba County Extension Center at 465-8240 or email Kelly Groves at kgroves@catawbacountync.gov.
